For this month’s article I wanted to share with you plans for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration, taking part in our village from the 2nd to the 5th of June next year.
In Bishop’s Hull we are blessed with a range of facilities and a vibrant community who we are sure will want to maximise the opportunity such a long weekend of celebration can offer. Several village institutions are keen to get involved as well as members of the community.
Therefore, to co-ordinate activities across Bishop’s Hull we would like to invite everyone who either has plans in progress or would simply like to get involved in helping to run village wide events, to a village meeting at The Hub on Thursday 11th November at 7:30pm for a 7:45pm start.
At a National level the Big Lunch is planned for Sunday 5th June, but we have the opportunity to run a range of events for the community, by the community. We already have ideas we would like to share; we have examples of events run by village residents for national ceremonies in the past and we would like to hear your ideas and how you would like to get involved.
I’d like to thank local resident David Gurr for agreeing to take the lead on this. If you would like to get in touch, please use the following contact details for David:
It would be helpful if you would confirm you are coming by emailing David on [email protected] (m: 07977 474873).
We look forward to meeting with you on the 11th of November.
