Yesterday afternoon, I popped up to see how our Bishop’s Hull Bell Ringers were getting on at their ‘Tea and Cake’ event, organised to help promote Bell Ringing at the Bell Tower.
I drove there, assuming it would be raining as usual (when is summer coming?) and wished I’d walked, it could not have been a nicer day for the event.
Tower Captain, Giles Morley was showing us how to ring and giving individual lessons.
It was so nice to see young people there too, they really enjoyed the experience and were a lot better at ringing than ‘yours truly’ lol.
There was however something I do have a talent for and that’s eating cakes, they were lovely, thank you.
I’d like to thank Giles, the members of the ‘Band’ and all those assisting with refreshments in the Church Hall, for making me so welcome.

If you’d like to find out more about Bell Ringing in Bishop’s Hull, please call Giles Morley on 01823 430 710 or Sue Faire on 01823 288 182. – I’ve added some photos from the event and a video from my February article below.

The weather was kind, so the 'practice' bell could be used outside.
