Today I popped along to the celebrations taking place at Greens Days Taunton shop.
Situated at the Vivary Park end of the High Street, the Green Days shop has been a huge success since opening one year ago, on February 6th 2017 and it was lovely to see you all again.
Below is the article together with a video and some photos of the opening day last year.
Monday 6th February 2017 is indeed a day to be remembered. Not only is it the day 65 years ago that Her Majesty acceded to the throne, making it the first Blue Sapphire Jubilee achieved by any British Monarch. It is also the date that Green Days Day Care had the ‘Grand Opening’ of their craft shop in Taunton.
The shop’s opening ceremony was conducted by the Mayor of Taunton Deane, Cllr Vivienne Stock-Williams at 11:00. This was followed by a chance for the guests to chat to the truly inspirational staff, browse and purchase the beautifully made items for sale and have some rather nice refreshments.
No one can explain the essence of what Green Days is all about better than this extract from the ‘What we do’ page of their website: “Green Days provides a day care service for adults with learning disabilities in Somerset, founded and run by Yvonne Stone after a career spanning 35 years of providing care. We are ‘without walls’ meaning that our focus is on being integrated within the local community – working, learning, helping, being active and of course having fun!”
All the Green Days shop needs now is your support. You’ll find it at 45, High Street, Taunton.

I’d like to thank Yvonne and everyone at Green Days for making me so welcome.
