For this month’s Community News article (January 2017), I popped up to Bishop’s Hull Primary School to help out at this years Christmas Fayre, held on Friday 2nd December.
As usual the Fayre was brilliantly organised by the school’s very pro-active Parent Teacher Association, chaired by Kate Cooper.

The event began at 2:45 with Christmas Carols, sung so beautifully by the girls and boys from the ‘Singing Club’ and continued throughout the afternoon.

There was a good variety of stalls offering: cakes, a chocolate tombola, kid’s crafts, a lucky dip, face painting, reindeer food, adopt a teddy, sweets, refreshments and a novelty shop.

Together with Rachel Reed and Vicky Livings, I was ‘put to work’ selling raffle tickets. The draw was made at 4:30 by Headteacher Rachel White and went on for some time due to the many prizes that had been so generously donated.

Well done to everyone involved, it was lovely to see so many smiling faces really getting into the Christmas spirit.

I’d like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

John Hunt
