For this month’s article (May 2018) it was my great pleasure to be invited to help out at the Bishops Hull Hub Easter Egg Hunt, held on Good Friday 30th March 2018 between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

The Hub’s Fundraising team put together a fantastic event taking place around the bishops Hull playing field and School, with in excess of 100 ‘boxed’ Easter Eggs to be won. The ‘Hunt’ headquarters was the church hall where volunteers sold entry slips for £1 each.

Other fund raisers included stands selling refreshments and delicious homemade cakes, kindly donated by local residents. There were also crafts tables and games for the children to enjoy, plenty to keep all the family entertained.

By 3pm the hall was absolutely packed with local people and their children clearly having great fun. At 4:15pm the much anticipated draw took place with the first prize, a luxurious selection box of chocolate eggs (photo below), going to a very happy Bishops Hull family.

Monies raised from the event, an incredible £511.95, will be going towards the proposed new hall replacing the existing Church Hall.

The Hub team would like to say a very special thank you to local businesses that supported the event so generously, The Old Inn, Bishops Hull Village Store, Wellington Road Co-op, Comeytrowe Tesco and Mirror Mirror Beauty, to all those that gave up their time to make this event possible and of course to all of you for coming along.

To everyone at Bishops Hull Hub Trust, thank you for giving the village such a brilliant event. I know how hard you all worked to make this event possible, well done.
